Join us Thursday evening at the Recording Studio Dinner and bid on wonderful “Platinum Record” creations by OOAK doll artists and other special items in our Silent Auction. Your generosity affords you the opportunity to go home with a beautiful and unique item as well as benefit local Cleveland charities.

Prior to Convention, pictures of these special Silent Auction items will be on the convention website at barbieconvention.com. Photos will include a description and provide some insight into the various artists who have been invited to donate to these worthy causes.

The proceeds from the silent auction will be divided between the following charities:

Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital — Unlike pediatric services offered by general community hospitals, Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital is a dedicated pediatric hospital with experts who offer a depth and breadth of high quality care that is not available at any other institution in the region. As a leading academic medical center that is the primary teaching hospital of Case Western Reserve University, they offer cutting-edge therapies to area children long before they’re available nationwide. When a child’s life is in the balance, there is simply no better facility in the area.

Their staff of more than 850 physicians, nurses, child life specialists, social workers and other professionals is devoted solely to pediatric medicine and surgery, and includes more nationally recognized pediatric specialists than any other hospital in Ohio. Rainbow’s 244-bed facility serves as both a primary care facility for children of the Cleveland metropolitan area and a principal pediatric referral center for Ohio and the region.

The hospital’s ambulatory clinic and children’s emergency care center serve more than 100,000 children each year. These facilities provide both primary and specialized ambulatory care.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum — This nonprofit organization exists to educate visitors, fans and scholars from around the world about the history and continuing significance of rock and roll music. It carries out this mission through its operation of a world-class museum that collects, preserves, exhibits and interprets this art form and through its library and archives as well as its educational programs. The latter include free on-site classes that teach academic subjects using popular music, distance-learning broadcasts to classes across the country and around the world, and weekly music therapy sessions that teach low-income children aged 3–5 their letters and prepare them to attend school.
