Pam SeemanPicture Hats for Barbie with Pam Seeman

Hats are all the rage on the Avenue. Girls have to protect their complexions!!! In this workshop you will learn how easy it is to make a dramatic picture hat for your dolls. No experience is needed but minimal sewing will be required.

Instructor Pam Seeman has been sewing and selling fashions for Paintbox Designs since 1998. She participates in creating OOAK dolls and fashions for a variety of dolls, but Barbie® doll is her passion.

Melissa UhlhornBoutique Display with Melissa Uhlhorn

Beautiful things displayed beautifully—artful arrangements of luxury accessories are part of the charm of shopping in exclusive stores and high-end boutiques. In this workshop you will make a Barbie®-sized retail display unit and store signage that can be used as part of a store window vignette, a diorama or as a stand-alone prop.

Instructor Melissa Uhlhorn has been interested in crafts for her entire life and makes beautiful dioramas for her favorite doll, Barbie®.

Ric MarkinDoll Flower Arrangements with Ric Markin

Floral accessories are a romantic tradition, especially for Barbie® and Ken® dolls! In fact, what girl doesn't like owers?
Join Ric Markin as he guides you through the process of making your choice of an elegant bouquet, corsage, or boutonniere (or perhaps all three!). Join in the fun-- everything you need to make this happen will be ready for you at the workshop (you might want to bring your glasses if needed—this is Barbie® doll scale!) All skill levels welcome—everyone will leave with a beautiful accessory.

Instructor Ric Markin, a creative doll designer, presented a OOAK design to the Live Auction in 2017. He has previously taught workshops at convention and at his local doll club.

Debra Jo Van DykeHigh Fashion Paper Dolls with Debra Jo Van Dyke

No drawing required! Cut and assemble a 10" fashionista with interchangeable heads and a 3-piece body. Design a unique swimsuit, create out ts, and make a folder to store everything. Learn the magic of the white colored pencil and coloring tips.

Instructor Debra Jo Van Dyke started drawing historic fashion paper dolls as a youth. Since then, she has become an active member and teacher in the Original Paper Doll Artist's Guild (OPDAG) and has won recognition in competition there for her paper dolls.

George SarofeenPipe Cleaner French Poodles with George Sarofeen

Learn to make cute French Poodles for your Barbie® dolls, using craft pipe cleaners. In this easy workshop, you'll make 1-3 French Poodles, depending on your speed (one black, one white, and one pink). Materials will be provided; however, you will need to bring a pair of small craft scissors. Come and have fun and leave with new pets!

George Sarofeen has been a professional costume designer for almost 40 years as well as a Design Consultant for the manufacturing industry. He has designed one-of-a-kind Barbie® dolls for the National Barbie® Doll Collectors Convention live and silent auctions over the years and has taught workshops on doll hair design as well as doll pattern design.

Pat BoykShoe Embellishments with Pat Boyk

In this workshop, we will be customizing fashion doll shoes to enhance your Barbie® doll's fabulous wardrobe. You will go home with 5 new pair of shoes designed by you, watch out Jimmy Choo! Everything you need to make this happen will be ready for you at the workshop.

Robin GeePaper Miniatures with Robin Gee

Discover the world of paper miniatures! Once you see how easy it is to make these adorable items for your dolls, you won't want to stop! This workshop will give you the supplies and printables you need to make your own miniature Barbie® dolls in boxes, NRFB out ts, round hat boxes, shoe boxes, calendars and more! You will leave with the basic skills and techniques to make the items, along with plenty of extra printables to keep you busy making a whole display!

Robin Gee, the instructor, makes all types of miniatures for her dolls. She works with paper, dye-sublimation, fabric, clay, vinyl cutting, foil application, 3-D printing and soon, laser cutting to make her miniatures. She regularly teaches Barbie® crafting workshops to her local doll club. Please bring your own scissors to cut out the printables. Other materials needed will be provided to complete your items. Plan in advance for how you will transport your treasures home since they will be fragile. And, you'll want to keep your unmade printies at and unwrinkled so you can make more at home.

Rob ThompsonElectrostatic Flocking with Rob Thompson

Electrostatic flocking is the method used by doll factories to flock doll heads that leaves the doll with a standing hair fiber that looks like the hair has been buzz clipped. In this workshop, you bring your choice of male or female doll and leave with flocked hair. The doll will need to be bald before the workshop as there will not be time to remove the hair in the workshop. Attendees will have their choice of several natural and fun fantasy hair colors to choose from for the flocking as well as several hairstyles on display from which to choose. All supplies other than the bald doll will be provided. Everyone will leave with a completed flocked doll.
