RE-ROOTING YOUR DOLL’S HAIR

Wednesday, July 21 - 1:00-2:30 and Thursday, July 22 - 1:00-2:30
This workshop covers all you need to know to re-root a vinyl Barbie® Doll. The class will show you how to re-root hair starting from how to remove the hair to how to root a thatched part. You will also learn about different hair fibers and styling tips. Dan’s knowledge and skills come from having customized thousands of dolls over a twelve year period. He has chosen the knot method so when the re-root is complete the hair can be brushed and played with without fear of it falling out. The class will give you all the skills and knowledge you need to re-root your dolls. Then you can complete your doll after the class.
Participants need to bring:

Vinyl Barbie® doll head. Please remove the head before the workshop.

1 pair of small, sharp mini craft scissors are recommended

1 pair of straight pointed tweezers

LET’S MAKE TRIMS FOR BARBIE® OUTFITS

In this hands-on workshop each participant will tie, sew and glue trims, perfectly sized for Barbie® clothes. From simple bows to flowers, fringe, and an aigrette, Judy will share her methods with you.
All materials for the trims will be provided but each person will need to bring a pair of scissors for cutting ribbon and lace.
Participants need to bring: 1) Scissors (everything else will be supplied )

VINTAGE T-SHIRTS AND EMBELLISHMENTS

In this class you will take a basic adult sized Barbie® t-shirt and turn it into a piece of art by adding vintage materials and embellishments to make it your own. By the end of the two hours you will be amazed at what you have created.
All materials (T-shirt, vintage lace, embellishments, buttons, etc.) will be provided. You need to provide T-shirt size when registering for the workshop.

KNITTING FOR YOUR BARBIE®, KEN® AND SKIPPER®
Presented by: Barbara Kiss

In this workshop you will learn techniques to shape a knitted garment to fit Barbie® doll’s special requirements, as well as how to make your own design. The class is for anyone with basic knitting skills (cast on, knit and purl) and advanced knitters. Yarn and knitting needles will be provided.

RESTORATION TIPS AND TRICKS

Do you want to learn how to retie the pony tail on your #6? Do you need to learn how to repaint the lips on your TNT without showing brush strokes? Then this is the class for you! This class will cover restoration of lovely pony tails and bubble cuts, as well as our Mod era girls. Angie will be teaching methods on cleaning, repainting and resetting hair styles, and show you all the tools used to achieve great results and bring your dolls back to mint condition. Please bring a notebook and pen to take notes as this is not a hands-on class, but rather a lecture style class with lots of question and answer time.
